eden hazard is ready to play against Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday
Eden Hazard is not likely to be risked for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the 26-year-old will probably not be fit enough to face Spurs, despite training with the Chelsea first team at Cobham this week.
The Belgian playmaker has not featured for the Blues this season after suffering a broken ankle while on international duty at the start of the summer.
Chelsea fans were given hope that Hazard could be set to make an imminent comeback in the coming days after he was pictured training at Cobham this week.
However, the report in the Evening Standardsays that Chelsea have no plans to rush the attacker back to action too soon.
Hazard’s comeback date was initially set for around late August, so the former Lille star remains on target to return later this month.
Chelsea fans will be desperate to see Hazard back in action for them in the coming weeks after the Blues slumped to a shock 3-2 loss to Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday in their Premier League opener.
Hazard was one of Chelsea’s key players as they won the Premier League in Antonio Conte’s first season at the club last term.
